Tamara Leszner-Rovet | Owner & Director of TPSMTS
Tamara began learning piano at the tender age of 3. Growing up, she received numerous awards and scholarships for her piano performances. Aspiring to be a concert pianist, she received her Associateship of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (ARCT) at the age of 18 and received her Registered Music Teacher (RMT) certification with the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ORMTA). As she developed a strong passion for teaching, she discovered music therapy – a career where she could share her love of music and performing while being able to help individuals enhance their quality of life. She received her Honours Bachelor of Music Therapy Degree (BMT) from the University of Windsor, and is a Certified Music Therapist (MTA). She has also received additional training to become a Neurologic Music Therapist Affiliate (NMT) with The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy, and is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Tamara established Tamara’s Piano Studio and Music Therapy Services (TPSMTS) in 2007 to fill a noticeable void in the accessibility of quality music lessons and programs to individuals with different learning strengths and needs. She has over 25 years cumulative experience providing traditional and adapted music lessons and music therapy sessions within individual, group, educational, residential, and long term care settings. Her energy, passion, dedication, and enthusiasm all shine through with every student, client, and family she has the honour and privilege of working with. It is her goal for all students and clients to have a positive, enriching, and rewarding musical experience that lasts a lifetime.
